Meeting Reflection

Meeting Reflection

Meetings could be very pleasurable and beneficial or a waste of time and boring depending on contributors. The members share ideas and opinions about the topic they are discussing or arguing for if the members were open minded the meeting would be more interesting because more ideas could be shared. On the other hand, sometimes members are narrow minded they could only focus on one side of the topic which would be ineffective and boring.

On April/18th/2013 a meeting was held about making HCT international at 10:55am among four members including the chair and the minute taker. I was a member same as Mohammed Hashiem, Bader was the minute taker and Abdulla Rashed was the chair. I suggested that transportation would be very important for the international students to encourage the international enrollment and also raised the idea of insufficient accommodation for new students. Mohammad said that the current level would be too easy for the foreign students. Bader recommended expanding the college to get more space for classrooms and parking. Abdullah suggested that there will be a challenge between the foreign students and the international students.

We also had a practice meeting before the actual meeting, I think it was good because we got the topic and we wrote the agenda and prepared for the meeting we can control on what we needed and what was the priority. But with the actual meeting it was much harder to control and the members just shared what came on their minds as I did too.

In future I would suggest that meetings in companies should be held among the employees and the labors to solve the problems so that managers could have more time to seek or focus on the company’s profit, the result is problems should not occur and delay the work.
